Neuroblastoma

Children never cease to amaze me in the way that they can cope and adapt to survive life. They show courage and understanding that adults can never comprehend. This lead me to wonder, when do we lose our fighting spirit, when does the everyday turmoil of life force us into submission?

We could learn a lot from children, if we only listened.

I fully agree with you as regards the adaptability of children. Life sometimes throws unmentionable horrors at children. It is very surprising that their inner turmoil does not cause more damage than it does.
Those children that show this courage and understanding of which you speak should never have to be so wise so young. We do not lose our fighting spirit. What happens is that we learn to submit to the pressures of everyday life in a bid to protect ourselves from more harm. That fighting spirit is still there. It just takes a while for our inner children to recognise that it is now safe to show that fighting spirit openly again. I agree with you that we can learn a lot from our children, if we only listened.
